Australian cold pressed Tamanu Oil

  • Wild harvested and cold-pressed in the Northern Territory from the topical evergreen Tamanu tree, Tamanu oil is an ultra-hydrating multi-use oil, that has been used for centuries in tropical south-east Asia and the Pacific as a beauty serum and to assist skin complaints.

Now grown and cold-pressed in Australia, Tamanu oil is quite a thick oil with a pleasant herby, earthy scent with a slight yellow-green hue. It is easily absorbed by your skin, and blends effortlessly with other oils. Use as a facial moisturiser, an intensive moisture treatment for very dry skin, for relief from itchy bites, or to support complaints.

Tamanu oil is truly a gift from nature, used as a key ingredient in natural skin care serums by luxury European beauty brands, and with good reason:

    • Has high levels of antioxidants and omega fatty acids

    • Promotes collagen and glycosaminoglycan (GAG) production.

    • Assists with treatment of psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis and rosacea

    • Anti-bacterial and anti-fungal - naturally treats athlete’s foot and fungal nail conditions

    • An effective anti-inflammatory (it provides instant relief from itchy bites!)

    • Supports skin healing, including after surgery

    • Listed as an active cosmetic ingredient by the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI)

    • A soothing massage oil – try a foot massage with Tamanu oil at the end of the day!

    • Used by wildlife carers in the NT to support healing of burns and wounds in rescue animals

This is the only Australian grown and produced Tamanu oil available on the market, wild harvested and ethically produced in small batches by family business Northern Tamanu Oil.

Each 50ml bottle contains pure undiluted tamanu oil. 100% natural, vegan and palm oil free, it not tested on animals (except for the pet dogs, who love a tamanu oil bath to keep bugs at bay and their fur silky!)

    Safety note:

    • Tamanu oil is for external use only – do not ingest and keep away from eyes and open wounds.

    • Tamanu oil is a tree nut, so do not use if you have a sensitivity to tree nuts. We recommend patch testing first. If you have any reaction to Tamanu oil please stop using it and see your GP right away.

lives up to all the hype

Firstly I love the smell, it is kind of herby. Can't really describe it exactly, a hint of celery seed sort of. It goes on easily, soaks in well, and makes my skin feel really nice.

    Instant relief

I've been using this oil on myself and my kids for insect bites and itchy skin and it provides instant relief. It also has a nice 'woody' scent which is much more pleasant than other chemical based creams. I definitely recommend it.
