Green Tree Frogs by Sandra Kendell
This delightful and informative tale teaches children about the much-loved Green Tree Frog, common in backyards across Australia, from the perspective of a child in the Top End’s monsoon season. As the rains arrive and thunder cracks, frogs appear from their damp hiding places to stretch their bobbly toes, feast on bugs and find that special froggy-someone using that surprisingly loud call of theirs “brawk, brawk, brawk!”
Green Tree Frogs are a welcome resident of backyards, water pipes and occasionally toilets across Australia. They are one of our largest and most unique frogs – with a water-resistant skin that enables them to live in such a variety of habitats.
Written and illustrated Sandra Kendell, a Darwin-based author and illustrator with a bright, fun style that clearly shows her love of native flora and fauna and ensures stories are engaging and accessible for the youngest of readers.
Printed in Australia, book includes a 28-page story, each page with gorgeous illustrations of the frog life cycle, and a double page spread of interesting Green Tree Frog Facts for little researchers.
