About the makers

Buttonworks is a family-run timber craft business based in the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Established in 2001 by parents Liz and Mike Murry with an original focus on wooden craft buttons, Buttonworks now includes daughters Keli and Liza, and has now greatly expanded their range to include homewares, children’s gifts and puzzles – all proudly carrying the Australian made logo, and designed and made in the family’s home studio.

The whole Buttonworks family is dedicated to sustainability, working only with reputable suppliers that have sustainability programs in place to reduce the impact on the environment.  From Tasmanian Oak and Jarrah, to Blackwood and Myrtle, each item is designed to showcase the natural beauty of our native timbers and uphold the integrity of the natural materials from which they are made.

Product care

All Buttonworks products have been sealed and varnished, to helps protect them from water marking or staining, however occasional application of a vegetable oil will help keep the timber hydrated and looking its best. Simply rub in a small amount of oil with a cloth whenever the timber looks pale or dry (this varies greatly with the climate) – adding a few drops of citrus essential oi if you have it (eg. lemon, orange).
