For a beautiful Australian gift that will stand the test of time, a luxurious hand crafted pen, made from sustainably sourced native Australian timbers, is the ultimate in natural beauty and practicality.

Carefully shaped and crafted to showcase the splendour of each piece of native timber, these beautiful pens are built to last with top quality pen mechanisms. A sturdy screw on-cap safeguards the ceramic roller, and top-shelf refillable Schmidt brand ink cartridges in black ensure writing is a pleasure that will last and last. A satisfying weight in the hand, with the gold-coloured clip and base bringing out the warmth in the timber, pens are perfectly balanced for writing comfort.

Pens measure 13 cm long, with the barrel measuring approximately 1.5cm wide, and the cap slightly wider at 1.8 cm. Pens come in a presentation case ready for gifting.

Native Australian timbers are sourced locally from reclaimed or recycled timber or naturally fallen trees.

Native Australian timber pens are available in Gidgee or Bull Oak

Bull Oak is a species of Ironwood tree native to Australia, with a unique circular grain, which grows between 5-15 metres tall. Bull Oak is one of the hardest native timbers in Australia, providing an important food source for the red-tailed black cockatoo in Western Victoria. The timber is a medium colour with a warm undertone.

Gidgee is one of our most distinctive native hardwoods, highly sought after for its beautiful deep colour and extreme hardness. Gidgee thrives in arid conditions and can grow up to 12 metres in height. Found across Queensland, north-western New South Wales, and into South Australia and the Northern Territory, Gidgee has a dark, warm grain and is much admired by wood turners. Timber is a very dark warm brown.
